CyberCat - Catnip Trip

Hello wonderful people!

Been running this random project for a year and a half now, in which I collect random comments from my random viewers and turn them into a mobile game.

So far the latest patch includes 1 chapter with: 250 random comments which equates to 32 levels of gameplay. ( 19.07.2024 )

Our next benchmark is 1000 comments!

It's a project anyone can jump in and leave their ideas on!

Gameplay:  elimininate foes, collect catnip and become crazy once the catnip has kicked in. After that, the game changes visually and mechanically. Combine your jump-attacks with your movement, but be precise with your timing!

Mechanics: In your "normal state", you can move around freely but you take damage from all projectiles and most enemies.

While pressing and holding down on your "attack key", you enter and remain in your "attack state" until you let go of the button. In this state, you are fixed in your current movement/momentum and will damage your foes instead.  Using this mid air will overtake your current momentum, using it while on ground will perform a leap-attack based on your movement speed.

Once you've eaten enough catnip, you enter "god state", when this happens, the game changes both visually and mechanically. You get to fly around freely and shoot down your enemies until you run out of catnip fuel. 

Art-Style:  2D platformer world full of outline graphics, cool pixelart. The images you see on this blog post do no represent the actual visual quality of the game. The game uses an edge detection shader which is just down-right hard to capture on screenshots. Mostly because of the social media compressions on images that take place.
